Dr Chinnaratha completed his basic physician training in Western Australia in 2010. He commenced his advanced training in gastroenterology in 2011 and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2013. He completed another year of sub-speciality training in hepatology with the Liver Transplant unit at Flinders Medical Centre.

Currently, he is undertaking a PhD with the Flinders University examining the effect of hepatitis B viral infection and its complications in South Australia.

Dr Asif Chinnaratha is a consultant Gastroenterologist at the Lyell McEwin Hospital. He has a special interest in hepatology; in particular, viral hepatitis. In addition to this, he also provides a general gastroenterology service at the hospital.

Dr Chinnaratha has recently commenced consulting as a Private Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist at Adelaide Gastrointestinal Specialists (AGIS). He is currently taking all new referrals with only minimal waiting periods. He is committed to providing a timely and thorough service, including both endoscopic and colonoscopic services.

Dr Chinnaratha consults at our main rooms at Tynte Street, North Adelaide and at Calvary Central District Hospital Specialist rooms at Elizabeth Vale. He has procedure lists at Calvary North Adelaide Hospital and Calvary Central District Hospital at Elizabeth Vale.
