I am born and bred in North Queensalnd and completed all my schooling in Ingham. I moved to Brisbane in the 1990's and undertook my undergraduate degree in Applied Science Optometry before embarking on further studies to undertake the Graduate Medical Course at the University of Queensland. Completing my final clinical years in Townsville, I was awarded a MBBS in 2002. I have completed the majority of my General Practice specialty training in Townsville, including rural service in Maryborough. In 2007, I attained my Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. I then settled into practice in Townsville over the last 13 years. With a special interest in women's health, I also worked part time at Family Planning Townsville where she developed further skills in contraception services including Mirena and Implanon insertion and removal. I enjoy all aspects of General Practice with a special interest in women's and children's health, Mirena Insertion and skin cancer treatment. As an examiner of the RACGP, I have a special interest in continuing professional development including training General Practice Specialist Registrars and working for JCU in the General Medical Training program for general practice. I am married and have two school aged daughters.
