Michael is an experienced, Gold Coast-based Consultant Medical Oncologist who specialises in general oncology of solid tumours. He is a senior partner of Haematology and Oncology Clinics of Australia.
He commenced his specialist training in Medical Oncology in Europe under auspices of The European School of Oncology. He completed his training at The Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia.
With a career spanning over 17 years, Michael’s previous appointments include: the Oncology Department of The Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney; the establishment of Gold Coast Oncology, a co-ordinated cancer care practice in Southport; and the creation of Gold Coast Oncology Research Pty Ltd, a private organisation specialising in international clinical trials.
In 2008, he merged his practice and research centre with HOCA and contributed to the establishment of the region’s first comprehensive cancer centre, HOCA Gold Coast Cancer Centre.
Michael is passionate about staying at the forefront of leading medical research and is an internationally recognised Principal Investigator. He continues to participate in international studies on the treatment of solid tumours and has access to a number of clinical studies available for treatment of major malignancies.
He also specialises in personalised medicine and collaborates with a number of international groups on developing the best individualised care for cancer patients, based on precise tumour profiling.
