Located on The Wesley Hospital Campus Professor Schuetz is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), (FaOrth) who, as an Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialises in trauma care (including upper/lower limb trauma, pelvic/spine/paediatric).
Professor Schuetz undertook his medical training at the Philips University Marburg and Ludwig Maximillan University Munich in Germany. He also spent several years as a guest student in Minnesota, Massachusetts and Florida in the USA before completing his degree.
He undertook an internship in Switzerland before commencing his training at Charite Hospital in Berlin, Germany where he continued to work until 2004. He then became the Professor and Chair of Trauma at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Queensland University of Technology. In 2007 he became the Director of Trauma at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane.
