Dr Merle Chit Swe started her practice as a GP in Burma in 1985, after completing her studies at the Institute of Medicine. She moved to Australia in 1999 and has enjoyed a varied career since. Merle has worked at the Royal North Shore and Westmead hospitals as well as the Sydney Children's Hospital after completing a Diploma in Child Health. She has worked as a visiting medical officer at Wellington hospital and has had a particular interest in Aboriginal health for the past 14 years. Merle's areas of other interest include paediatrics, emergency medicine and geriatrics. Merle enjoys gardening and embroidery. She is also involved with Animal Rescue.
