Dr Melinda Hardy FRACGP graduated with honours from the University of Sydney in 2010 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery having previously completed a Bachelor of Medical Science and two years in clinical trials and medical research. She completed her medical training through Westmead Hospital and Westmead Children’s Hospital and in 2009 was awarded the Renwick Prize for Anatomy and the Renwick Prize for Physiology. As a medical student, Dr Hardy spent two months in Uganda, Africa, helping to implement health promotion activities through grassroots organisation Hands of Help. As a junior doctor, Dr Hardy worked for two years at Orange Base Hospital where she was Intern of the Year in 2011. She has a strong research background and has been involved a number of research projects in the areas of diabetes and endocrinology, anaesthesia, cancer care and atrial fibrillation/stroke and has been involved in the GP in Schools program for many years. She has a special interest in mental health, women’s health and adolescent medicine. When she is not working, Dr Hardy enjoys spending time with her young family, reading and going for walks in the mountains
