He graduated in medicine from University of Queensland in 1999. Dr Wilkinson completed his fellowship in Orthopaedics in 2009. He has completed subspeciality fellowships in sports injuries and arthroscopic procedures at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada and a fellowship in lower limb arthropasty and sports injuries of the hip and knee in London, UK. Dr Wilkinson is a visiting medical officer at The Townsville Hospital. He is the co-director of the Orthopaedic Research Institute of Queensland (ORIQL) and is an adjunct senior lecturer at James Cook University. For the last 2 years Dr Wilkinson has operated his private practice in Pimlico. He operates at the Mater Hospital on a weekly basis.
