Matt is an experienced and approachable GP with a passion for supporting the health and wellbeing of his patients. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (specialist GP) and has over 15 years’ experience as a GP, and 20 years in, working in hospitals and general practice in the UK and in city and regional locations around Australia before deciding to settle in Brisbane earlier this year.

He is passionate about all aspects of men’s health, mental health and women’s and children’s health including preventative health and ageing.

Matt has special interests in dermatology, diabetes and endocrinology, and has undertaken further training in skin cancer medicine and surgery.

Matt is excited to join The Barracks Medical Centre after spending 10 years in Cairns working as a GP at a local general practice and also as a GP with Special Interest in Dermatology at Cairns Hospital.

He is passionate about keeping up to date with the latest medical advances to ensure his patients get the very best available treatment and care. Matt has even recently had the privilege of assisting urological surgeons in operating the latest da Vinci® Xi robotic surgical system, providing patients with minimally invasive surgical options in prostate and kidney cancer treatments.

Matt is a proud Doctor Who fan who always appreciates a good book, a nice red or a run along the river, and he adores his family.
