Dr Mathew Sebastian is a vascular surgeon with over 15 years of experience and expertise in the field following his training in the United States and Singapore. Since 2009, he has been working in Newcastle and the Hunter region. Mathew is a senior staff specialist vascular surgeon and Director of Vascular Ultrasound at John Hunter Hospital, as well as Training Supervisor in Vascular Surgery for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). He also teaches and examines undergraduates from the University of Newcastle.
Apart from his public appointment, Mathew is a visiting medical officer (VMO) at Lake Macquarie Private, Lingard Private and Newcastle Private hospitals. He consults at the Vascular HealthCare rooms at Gateshead, Merewether and East Maitland.
Mathew’s clinical interests are in the endovascular management of aortic aneurysms and dissections as well as endovascular interventions in limb salvage, particularly for infra-genicular and ‘diabetic foot’ disease.
