“In my experience, providing personal attention and spending time with patients to ensure their questions and concerns are addressed, is key for optimal care.”

Dr Marzieh Niknami obtained her medical degree from a prestigious university in Tehran, Iran (SBUMS). She completed a PhD in cancer genetics and pathology, receiving additional training and work experience in neuropathology and genetics from Sydney University. Dr Niknami also completed certificates in Sexual Health, Women’s Health, Skin Cancer and Wound Management. With a passion for general practice, she has taught primary care and chronic disease management at UNSW.

Originally from the beautiful mountainous Azerbaijan, Marzi has worked in multicultural Tehran, the remotest areas of Baluchistan, bustling Sydney and now brings this exotic and compassionate culture to lovely Bundanoon.

She has worked as a rural GP and has had the privilege of working with different cultures and linguistic backgrounds for years. She loves working as a GP and enjoys treating patients of all ages. She likes the sense of community that comes with working in a rural general practice, and endeavours to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.

She has a special interest in skin cancer, children’s health, women’s health, sexual health, mental health and chronic disease. She started working full time at The Practice – Bundanoon in March 2019 and is very keen to learn about the Southern Highlands community.

Away from work, Marzi loves reading, exploring nature and spending time with her family. She is looking forward to helping you and your families in achieving your health goals.
