Dr Mark Welsh is an Orthopaedic Surgeon, in private practice on the Sunshine Coast since 1991 Mark received his secondary education in Brisbane after growing up on the Sunshine Coast. He completed his medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Queensland in 1980. Medical training was in Toowoomba and Brisbane, completing his advanced training in Surgery and Orthopaedics in 1989. In 1990, Dr Welsh undertook an Orthopaedic Surgical Fellowship at New Addenbrooks Hospital in Cambridge, UK. He was a visiting medical officer for Queensland Health providing specialist public services and orthopaedic teaching at Nambour General Hospital from 1991 to 2008. From 2003 to 2007 Dr Welsh was on the Federal board of the Australian Orthopaedic Association. He had previously spent four years on the Queensland board of the Australian Orthopaedic Association. Since 1992, several times a year, Dr Welsh has provided orthopaedic consulting and day surgery procedures at Longreach Hospital in the Central West of Queensland.
