Mark Bukofzer is a Specialist Anaesthetist, having trained in South Africa and New Zealand. He is a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. He holds both private and public hospital appointments, at the Sydney Adventist Hospital, Macquarie University Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital, North Shore Hospital and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital.

He is currently the Head of the Department of Anaesthesia at the Sydney Adventist Hospital (SAH) and Deputy Director of the Division of Surgical Services at the SAH. He is a past president of The New Zealand Society of Anaesthesia.

He regularly anaesthetises patients undergoing complex orthopaedic procedures and upper and lower GI surgery (such as oesophagectomy and liver resections). He also provides anaesthesia services for ENT, paediatric, gynaecological and obstetric patients. His major interest in anaesthesia includes management of post-operative pain and nausea in all patient groups.
