Dr Marcia Mickelburgh is an Australian trained Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. She completed her graduate medical degree at the University of Queensland before undertaking her residency at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She commenced advanced surgical training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2008. She has trained in all the major Queensland metropolitan hospitals and was awarded her fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in January 2015.
Following her training, Dr Mickelburgh was appointed as a consultant plastic surgeon at both The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital where she was involved in breast reconstruction, hand trauma and head and neck reconstruction. In both her roles she was involved in the training and teaching of both trainees, residents and medical students.
Dr Mickelburgh is delighted to have returned to Cairns with her young family and now operates at Cairns Private Hospital, Cairns Day Surgery and Cairns Base Hospital.Her special interests include breast reconstruction, aesthetic breast surgery, skin cancer and hand surgery.
