Dr Cox graduated in 1990 with first class Honours from the University of Sydney. She worked in Concord Hospital before training in general practice. Her postgraduate qualifications include the Family Planning Certificate, RACGP Certificate of Advanced training in Women’s Health, the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (recipient of the medal for the College exam) and the Diploma of Child Health (Usyd). In addition to her clinical work, Marcela works as a medical educator, providing teaching to general practice registrars. She is also Censor for the NSW Faculty of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, a role which involves the assessment and maintenance of general practice standards.
