Dr Pai was a Consultant Psychiatrist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the UK before obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).
Interest: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and behavioural problems in Children 4-12 years of age. All child, adolescent and adult psychiatric disorders except eating disorders. ADHD for all ages.
Dr. Pai has over 19 years’ experience in Clinical Psychiatry. He has previously served in leadership roles in mental health such as being the lead for ADHD service and being lead for Mental health Information technology. He also has a special interest in various types of psychotherapy. Hei has been worked with children and adolescents for more than 12 years with a special interest in treatment of children under the age of 12 years with neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Tourette’s and co-morbid mental disorders, such as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Anxiety and Depressive Disorders. Dr Pai is happy to provide continuity of care for young people up to the age of 60 years.
Dr Pai believes that parents are the experts of their own children. He brings his specialist expertise in the comprehensive assessment and management of his child patient’s mental health problems. He works together with the family and other health professionals involved with the child to facilitate a shared understanding in his specialist psychiatric treatment plan of his child patient’s diagnosed mental disorder. Dr Pai provides holistic mental health care including pharmacotherapy (medication management), individual and family psychotherapy. He offers an up-to-date knowledge base via face to face or telehealth appointments.
Dr Pai is a trained systemic psychotherapist practitioner with an expertise in family therapy in addition to being trained in other therapies such as Interpersonal Therapy, Mentalisation Based Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
