Born and trained in the UK, initially as a paediatrician, then as an anaesthetist with a special interest in paediatric anaesthesia. Moved to Adelaide, Australia in 1998, after working for a year at the Womans and Childrens Hospital, was appointed as a specialist anaesthetist at Flinders Medical Centre in 1999. Started in private practice in 2006. Always keen in ongoing education, has been heavily involved in trainee education and has been a final examiner for the College of Anaesthetists of Australia and New Zealand for the past 10 years. Has also participated in ongoing education and support of her peer group of colleagues, she was a member and chaired the Regional committee of the SA and NT branch of ANZCA (for 12 years) and was a committee member for the SA office of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists for 3 years. Feels strongly about maintenance of professional standards and has been a Board member of the SA Medical Board of Australia since 2011. Special interests include Paediatric surgery, Bariatric surgery, Neurosurgery, and Ear, nose and throat surgery.
