Dr Lynda-Rose Chapeyama graduated from The University Of Newcastle, NSW in 2009. She completed her hospital training years as well as her GP specialist training in and around the Hunter Region of NSW, gaining her Fellowship from The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2014.
Dr Chapeyama moved to Melbourne in 2019 with her young family – relocating to be closer to the generations of her husband’s family with her children now able to regularly visit with their great-grandparents, grandparents, great aunts and uncles, aunts and uncles and cousins.
Dr Chapeyama enjoys all aspects of general practice, and considers it a true privilege to be able to walk alongside her patients through both the highs and lows of their lives, and those of their loved ones. She has a special interest in sexual and reproductive health – seeing people across the age spectrum for issues such as pre-pregnancy planning, supportive consults during and after pregnancy including breastfeeding / feeding support. She is skilled in discussing and offering all contraception options including IUD insertion. She is a registered MTOP (medical termination of pregnancy) provider, and comfortable with all aspects of sexual health care including PREP prescription where appropriate.
Mental health care is another of Dr Chapeyama’s main interests, and she considers early and personalised mental health support to be one of the cornerstones of general practice care. She can discuss a range of therapy and medication options with her patients, and organise referrals as appropriate.
