Dr Lisa Cummins (Rheumatologist)

Dr Lisa Cummins is a Rheumatologist with an interest in all aspects of rheumatic disease. Dr Cummins completed undergraduate medical training at James Cook University in 2005, graduating with First Class Honours and the University Medal. She obtained fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in 2014 after training at major tertiary hospitals in Queensland, including the Princess Alexandra Hospital, the Royal Brisbane Hospital and The Townsville Hospital. In addition to her work at arthritisCARE, Dr Cummins conducts public rheumatology clinics at the Mater Hospital Brisbane, including a dedicated clinic for young adults with rheumatic conditions. Dr Cummins has a strong interest in medical education. She is currently the Director of Clinical Training for the Australian Rheumatology Association Qld Branch and is actively involved in teaching physician trainees. Her research interests have included: health-related quality of life in ankylosing spondylitis, access to rheumatology care and retention of medications in rheumatoid arthritis.
