Dr Li-Zsa Tan is a consultant in Paediatric Gastroenterology. She specialises in the assessment, diagnosis and management disorders of the gut, liver and nutrition. She trained at the Sydney Children’s Hospital and was Fellow of Gastroenterology there before moving to Queensland to advance her Fellowship in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital. Following the completion of her training, she was awarded an appointment at the LCCH as a Staff Specialist.
Dr Tan has keen interests in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, liver disease, Coeliac disease and other areas of general gastroenterology such as Eosinophilic Esophagitis. Her ongoing involvement in clinical research has led to international publications including co authorship of a book chapter on the influence of gene-environment interactions in chronic pancreatitis. In addition to her invaluable experience at major tertiary paediatric centres, she also brings a holistic and down-to-earth approach to the management of children and families under her care.
