Lauren grew up in North Queensland, studying medicine at James Cook University in Townsville and Cairns and graduated in 2006. Since then she's undertaken hospital training, including diploma of obstetrics and gynaecology, and further training in paediatrics and in emergency medicine. For the last few years Lauren has been in Western Australia completing her GP training and spent a year in rural WA as a GP obstetrician. Lauren is delighted to be back on the Sunshine Coast and happy to see all kinds of patients, with a special interest in Women's and Children's Health.
Dr Shorthouse is happy to take on pregnant patients and new mums.
