Dr Kiran Kaushal is the founding partner and the practice principle of Riverway Medical Centre. She graduated in 1983 and worked in India specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Dr Kiran moved to Australia in 2001 with her family. She spent the first 5 years working as a General Practitioner in Tully, and then moved to Townsville in 2006 as her children were accepted into the Medical School at James Cook University.
Dr Kiran has now been working as a GP in Townsville for over 10 years and her special interests are Women's Health, Children's Health, Antenatal Care, Mental Health, Indigenous Health, Travel Medicine, Preventative Medicine and Chronic Illness. She is one of the few GP's in Townsville that does Mirena insertion/removal in a Bulk Billing Medical Centre.
Dr Kiran is actively involved in teaching and training medical students and GP Registrars.
