Dr Katherine Turner (GP)

Dr Turner completed her medical training at Sydney University in 2001. Prior to this she was a research scientist, both in Sydney at St Vincent’s Hospital and with the Public Health Laboratory in London. She then worked for 2 years with the Gene Therapy Research Unit at the Westmead Children's Hospital, before commencing her medical studies. Originally based at Concord Hospital, Kath has also worked in a number of rural settings including Cootamundra, Broken Hill, Darwin and Alice Springs. She returned to Westmead Children's Hospital in 2004 to advance her interest in paediatrics, completing her Diploma of Child Health in the process. Dr Turner’s GP training took her from the Inner West to Muswellbrook to Darlinghurst and she became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2009. She now is an examiner for the College Fellowship. Kath worked in Summer Hill for over 5 years, before joining us at HHMP in 2011. Dr Turner enjoys playing hockey, swimming and running. She works part-time at HHMP as she balances her full-time role as mother to her two beautiful boys
