Dr Katherine Leonard (GP)

Dr Leonard graduated in 2012 from the University of Cardiff (UK) with a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery. She is a Specialist GP having gained fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She has a surgical background in the field of Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and General Surgery.

Dr Leonard practices privately at South Steyne Medical Centre on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition, she teaches for the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Faculty of Medicine, and provides emergency care as a NSW Health Senior Medical Officer at Mona Vale Hospital. Dr Leonard has a wealth of medical and surgical experience from eleven years of postgraduate training both in the UK and in Australia. In addition to Specialist Training in General Practice, she has clinical experience in General Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology (ENT), Acute Care Medicine, Paediatrics and Clinical Research. She commenced her career working at Bristol Royal Hospital (UK), Bristol Children’s Hospital and Musgrove Park Hospital, prior to relocating to Australia in 2015. Dr Leonard consequently worked at Westmead Children’s Hospital, Mona Vale Hospital and Manly Hospital. More recently, Dr Leonard has been practicing for several years in rural NSW as a GP, before commencing her position with the team in Manly.
