Kate wishes to acknowledge the Bundjalung people as the traditional Indigenous custodians of the land where we live and work.

Dr Kate Tree grew up on the Gold Coast and graduated from the University of Queensland in 1987. She was awarded her Diploma in Obstetrics in 1992, undertook specialist training in general practice via the Family Medicine Programme and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1995.

Kate has previously worked in hospitals from Rockhampton to Canberra, including the Emergency Department at The Tweed Hospital. Kate has also previously cared for patients at a variety of general practices, including a community-controlled indigenous health service.

Dr Kate joined Queen Street Medical Centre in 2016. Her many medical interests include women’s health, mental health and palliative care. Dr Tree is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society.

As a member of the Clinical Council for the North Coast Primary Care Health Network, Kate is hoping to facilitate improvement of patients’ experiences of care whether in the community or within hospitals.
