Dr Karl Staer grew up in Narrogin and Perth, and completed the majority of his training as a Rural Generalist within Western Australia. He provides family medical, inpatient and emergency care, along with special interests in general and plastic surgery, and obstetrics.
Karl is able to perform many skin excisions in the new procedure room at Recherche medical centre, and also more major procedures at the Esperance Hospital, such as Vasectomies, Hernia repairs, Tendon repairs, and emergency appendicentomy.
Arriving in 1998, he and his wife Helen have loved raising their three children in the beautiful environment and supportive community of Esperance. Together they regularly work in developing settings, particularly in West Africa.
In his spare time Karl enjoys time with family and friends, basketball, the outdoors and fishing
