Dr Karin Timmers is a Consultant Paediatrician with abundant experience in acute and on-going general paediatric care. In addition, she has experience in Adolescent Health including management of eating disorders, weight management and complex adolescent care. Karin gained her Medical Degree (MBBS/MSc) in the Netherlands and moved to Australia in 2005, where she completed her Paediatric training, including a Masters of Public Health at the University of Newcastle. Karin worked in Tertiary Paediatric Centres such as Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick, The Children’s Hospital in Westmead, John Hunter Children’s Hospital and several regional and rural hospitals. Karin provides General Paediatric and Adolescent Care including direction and support to children and families that are struggling with eating disorders and weight management. As a mother of a boy and a girl in primary school, Karin is aware of the impact medical and mental health issues have on the individual and their family, and is passionate in providing support for families in need. Karin is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Eating Disorders (ANZEAD), a member of the Australian Association of Adolescent Health (AAAH) and a member of the Neurodevelopmental and Behavioural Paediatric Society of Australasia (NBPSA).
