Dr Clarey is a Haematologist at Icon Wesley and Mackay. He has a focus on tailoring treatments to the individual needs of patients and their families and is committed to ensuring patients feel supported throughout their treatment and beyond.

Dr Clarey completed his Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery at James Cook University and went on to complete his specialist haematology and bone marrow transplantation training at Townsville Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Red Cross Blood Service. He is well-versed in the management and treatment of a wide-range of haematological conditions including, leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, myelodysplasia, cytopenias and haemostasis, haemoglobinopathies and disorders of iron homeostasis.

He is actively involved in research and is currently undertaking a Masters of Clinical Trials Research with the University of Sydney and NHMRC. Dr Clarey attends several multidisciplinary meetings and participates in the continual development of junior doctors. He is also a laboratory Haematologist at Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology.
