Dr Jon Farrah is one of the founding principals of Infinite Vision. He graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School with Honours and was awarded an AMA Medal. After working in general practice at home and abroad, he obtained specialist qualifications in ophthalmology.
Dr Farrah is a comprehensive ophthalmologist specialising in cataract and glaucoma surgeries, along with laser vision correction and implantable contact lenses. He performs micro-incisional glaucoma operations such as iStent, and has performed more Kahook dual blade treatments than any other surgeon in the country. He is also accomplished in all forms of corneal transplantation and cross-linking, along with reconstructive surgeries of the anterior segment for cancers and pterygia. Dr Farrah has a keen interest in the treatment of macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy and offers injection, laser and implant treatments. He is currently the only surgeon in Australia to implant the EyeMax Mono, a lens specifically designed to maximise the visual potential of patients with advanced macular disease. From his background in general practice, Dr Farrah brings a refreshingly holistic approach to patient care, and is committed to ensuring that patients understand their conditions and treatment options.
As well as publishing in scientific journals and presenting papers at local and international conferences, Dr Farrah is a member of the Australian, American and European societies of cataract and refractive surgeons.
Dr Farrah is based at Infinite Vision Ipswich and Logan, and the Mater Hospital (Springfield). In addition to his specialist services at Infinite Vision, Dr Farrah works with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services to help ‘close the gap’ through the provision of advanced ophthalmic surgery.
