Dr Silberberg is a general cardiologist. He graduated in Medicine in South Africa in 1978 and undertook specialist training in Australia, with FRACP in 1986. He obtained MSc in Epidemiology at McGill in 1989 and joined the University of Newcastle in 1989, completing PhD in 1998. He was among the first group of cardiologists appointed to John Hunter Hospital. His areas of interest are familial heart disease and lipid disorders. He is active in medical student and junior doctor education and is on the Examination Committee for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He has authored a web-based series of cardiology tutorials in 3-min cartoon format, see www.profmontage.com.au Dr Silberberg is on the on-call roster for general cardiology at John Hunter and Belmont Hospitals and attends various specialty clinics.
