Dr Jonathan Bromley image003 Jonathan Bromley MBChB(uk) FRACP was born in Yorkshire and underwent his medical training at the University of Bristol in the West of England, graduating in 1998. Following a period of work in the south west of England, including the Gastroenterology unit at the Bristol Royal Infirmary, he moved to Canberra where he completed his postgraduate training in internal medicine, sub specialising in gastroenterology. He was awarded his fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians in 2007. In 2008 he was awarded an endoscopy fellowship from the Gastroenterology Society of Australia and travelled to St. Mark’s hospital in London where he spent 12 months working with, and learning from, world experts in colonoscopy. St Mark’s is one of only 19 endoscopy centres in the World to be recognised by the World Endoscopy Organization (WEO) as a centre of excellence. Since returning from London he was invited to join gastotrACT, a practice which had great appeal given its focus on quality patient focused care. He accepted an appointment at the Canberra Hospital where he is heavily involved with the Medical Assessment and Planning Unit. He practices all aspects of gastroenterology but has a specific interest in quality improvement in screening colonoscopy and small bowel video capsule endoscopy.
