Dr Jonas Kasauskas was born in Adelaide, grew up in the western suburbs, and graduated from the University of Adelaide Medical School in 1979. After completing his Internship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, he participated in the Family Medicine Programme, including training for Obstetrics and Anaesthetics, as preparation for rural General Practice. The move from Adelaide to Kingston SE, with partner Dr Lindy Poole, happened in 1983, where he managed his own practice for a total of 17 years, assisted by a third doctor from 1988.

Since happily joining Stirling Medical Centre in 2000, Dr Kasauskas has also maintained his interest in Rural Medicine by doing regular (1 week in 6) locum work with Rural Doctors Workforce Agency, all around South Australia.

Although no longer actively involved in Obstetrics and Anaesthetics, he has retained his interest in Aviation Medicine, and minor surgery, including regular surgical assists at Stirling District Hospital.

Outside interests include travel, bushwalking, photography, cars, windsurfing, wine and food, and of course, grandchildren!
