Hi this is Jon

I was born and educated in Brisbane and Graduated from Yeronga High School in 1980.

I graduated from the University of Qld in 1987. I completed three years and the Princess Alexandra Hospital from 1988 to 1990. I was part of the PAH emergency relief team to Charleville after the devastating 1990 floods. In 1991 I split my training between a hospital term in intensive care and General Practice training as part of the Family Medicine Programme. I completed my Intensive Care training term at the Mater Adults Hospital in 1991. I did part time teaching as a visiting accident and emergency registrar at the Princess Alexander Hospital for several years in addition to full time general practice. I completed my GP fellowship in 1995, I came to the South Coast in 1996 and started work in Tweed Heads for 12 months before coming to Ashmore and Parkwood.

I started full time at Parkwood Family Practice in 1997. I have been on the RACGP college exam panel since 1996. I have been the CSQTC (Central and Southern Qld Training Consortium) educator for the last two years. This involves giving education meetings and assessing new GP registrars in their own clinical settings.

I have been a GP facilitator many times, hosting sponsored clinical meetings for my GP colleagues on a variety of clinical subjects to the standards set by the RACGP to attain education points.

I have always had an interest in flying and scuba diving and I have the required certification for recreational diving medicals. I hope to be able to start diving again myself in the near future. I especially enjoy the paediatrics side of general practice but the variety of cases and meeting the individual needs of each patient is always a challenge.
