Dr James is the founder, and principal, of the Lejeune practice and has been a family physician for several years. A fellow of the College of General Practitioners, with post graduate qualifications in Obstetrics/Gynaecology and Paediatrics, Dr James was inspired by paediatrician and geneticist , Dr Jerome Lejeune, in whose honour the practice is named, and whom Dr James had the pleasure of meeting on several occasions, to see a family medical practice return to a more traditional mode of primary health care delivery, with emphasis on personalised attention, and continuity of care. Dr James is married, with ten children, and he and his wife, Julie, have been deeply involved with both educational initiatives to assist families, and community activism directed towards ensuring that human life, from conception until natural death, is protected. Lejeune works with Pregnancy Counselling Australia, a 24 hour national telephone support service, to assist and support mothers who are finding their pregnancies, for whatever reason , arduous, in an effort to ensure that both mother, and unborn baby, flourish. In his other life, Dr James enjoys involvement in local and national politics, watching ( and playing )sport , especially his beloved Wallabies, and has been involved in local sports associations, particularly Eastwood District Rugby Union.
