Dr John Glastonbury is a general ophthalmologist with special interest in glaucoma, cataract and intraocular lens implant surgery. He has 28 plus years experience as a registered ophthalmologist.
Dr Glastonbury graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine in 1980 from Flinders University of South Australia and went on to complete a Bachelor of Medical Science (Hons). He completed his ophthalmic training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and at the Adelaide Children’s Hospital. In 1988 Dr Glastonbury became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.
Dr Glastonbury worked in Adelaide for many years and was staff specialist and later senior consultant ophthalmologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. During this time, he also lectured in Ophthalmology, and was published in various medical journals.
In 1996 Dr Glastonbury and his family moved to Townsville. He is a regular attendee at meetings, conferences and symposia related to his field of practice. He has also worked at the Townsville Hospital.
