Dr Jodie Benson (Obstetrics and Gynaecologist)

Jodie studied medicine at The University of Melbourne and commenced her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash Medical Centre. Jodie completed her advanced training in Ireland, working at the Cork University Maternity Hospital where 10,000 babies are born each year. Jodie became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2011. On her return to Australia, Jodie commenced work in Warrnambool; in the same community where she grew up. Jodie moved to Geelong in 2012. Having initially worked full time at the University Hospital Geelong, Jodie is currently a VMO and is actively involved in the teaching of junior doctors and medical students. Jodie also sits on the Stillbirth subcommittee of the Consultative Council of Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity at the Victorian Department of Health. Jodie lives in Geelong with her two daughters.
