Dr Jo Mitropoulos is a Consultant Geriatrician at Monash Health, where she works in the Falls and Balance Clinic and is on the Monash Health Falls Committee.
She has particular expertise in caring for residents of aged care facilities, having worked in residential care settings via In-Reach and Transition Care Programs. Jo has a broad skill set applicable to the care of older people, and is particularly passionate about end of life care and advance care planning. She has presented at national and international conferences on these topics and she has completed a Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine. Her other key areas of interest are dementia (diagnosis and management), falls and polypharmacy. She is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
