Clinical Professor Jenny Deague completed her original medical training (MBBS) in 1990 at the University of Melbourne and completed her residency and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Clinical Professor Deague followed this by completing a PhD entitled Family studies of heart size, diastolic function and haemodynamics in 2000 at the University of Melbourne whilst completing advanced training in echocardiography at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. This was followed by postgraduate fellowship training in echocardiography at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston USA and Harvard University, USA.

Appointed in 2012 as Director of Cardiology at Joondalup Health Campus, Clinical Professor Deague has overseen the expansion of the department including the cardiac catheterisation, echocardiography laboratories and the telemetry care unit. She is currently a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Medical Advisory Committee and Clinical Review Committee at Joondalup Health Campus and a Director of the National Heart Foundation.
