Jenny Curnow trained in Haematology at Royal Brisbane and Royal North Shore hospitals then completed her PhD at the University of Sydney, Northern Blood Research Centre in 2010 supported by an NHMRC scholarship. For the last 6 years she has been a staff specialist at Concord Hospital and established translational haemostasis and thrombosis research in the Haematology department. She is the current President of the Australasian Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ASTH) and has been appointed as the Clinical lead in Thrombosis and Haemostasis and Director of the Westmead Haemophilia Treatment Centre. Her translational research interests include thrombogenic biomarkers and the development of global assays for the evaluation and management of bleeding disorders and hypercoagulable states including venous thrombosis, pregnancy, malignancy, inflammation and coronary artery disease. Clinical research interests include optimizing anticoagulation and management issues related to the target-specific oral anticoaculants. She has recently been appointed as the chair of the anticoagulant medicines working party for the NSW Clinical Excellence Commission.
