Founder of Western Orthopaedic Clinic. Hand, Wrist, & Microsurgeon
Mr Jeff Ecker is an internationally renowned surgeon who specialises in hand and wrist conditions.
Recognised as an exceptional hand and wrist surgeon trained in orthopaedics, plastics and microsurgery, Mr Ecker regularly presents, teaches and publishes on key aspects of hand and wrist surgery around the world.
He performs arthroscopic, endoscopic, open, micro-vascular, joint replacement, reconstructive and traumatic surgery on both bone and soft tissue. As a result, Mr Ecker is often called upon to operate on some of the most challenging injuries, disorders and corrective reconstructive work. His specialist interest is in the treatment of complex wrist problems including scaphoid fractures,fracture non-unions and wrist arthroscopy.
Mr Ecker was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1985 (FRACS Orthopaedics). He completed a Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship at Oxford University, United Kingdom, and then studied in Plastic and Microvascular Surgery at Duke University in North Carolina and University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles.
Mr Ecker founded the Western Orthopaedic Clinic in 1994. He has subsequently established the Hand & Upper Limb Centre (HULC), which has seven dedicated hand and wrist clinics across Western Australia, where he combines his unique multi-disciplinary skills with the latest and most advanced techniques and equipment available to provide his patients with the best possible outcomes.
Since 2008 Mr Ecker has been the Chairman of the Western Australian Society of Hand Surgeons. In addition to this role, he is the Secretary and Board Member of the Australian Hand Surgery Society, on the Board of the Asian Pacific Wrist Association, Chairman of the Asian Pacific Wrist Association Education Committee, and on the Board of the Asian Pacific Federation for Surgery of the Hand.
Mr Ecker is regularly invited as a guest speaker at international hand and wrist meetings.
