Dr Jane Freeman studied Medicine at the University of Sydney, graduating in 2001 with her MBBS. During this time, she also obtained a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Philosophy. From 2001, she worked at the Royal North Shore Hospital, completing her internship and residency. During this period she obtained post-graduate degrees in Philosophy, studying in the ethics of research and in neuroscience with research on chronic pain modelling. She then completed dual specialist training in both Clinical and Laboratory Haematology, and obtained her Fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 2009.

Prior to joining Northern Haematology & Oncology Group in 2011, Jane spent 18 months undertaking post-fellowship training in Medical Oncology at Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney.

Jane has broad experience in a wide range of malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions. Her particular interest is in malignant haematology, including lymphoma, leukaemia and multiple myeloma; and management of haematological malignancy in the elderly.
