Dr James Wykes is a Head and Neck Surgeon. He trained as a General Surgeon in Sydney before undertaking fellowships in Head and Neck Surgery including Microvascular Reconstruction at Liverpool Hospital and the Sydney Head and Neck Cancer Institute at Royal Prince Alfred and Chris O’Brien Lifehouse Hospitals. He then underwent a further 12-month fellowship with the Maxillofacial unit at St George’s Hospital in London, England, specializing in head and neck cancer surgery.
He performs surgery on head and neck skin cancers, mouth, throat and jaw tumours, salivary gland conditions and thyroid and parathyroid disease. He also performs microvascular reconstructive surgery for these conditions. James is interested in teaching and research and is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Wollongong. He also works in Sydney at Liverpool, Bankstown and Chris O’Brien Lifehouse Hospitals.
