I completed my medical degree at Adelaide University in 1997 and my internship and Resident Medical Officer training in Perth.
My family has a tradition of Naval Service and immediately after the completion of my general medical training I followed that tradition by enlisting for a four-year period during which time I saw six months active service, as a medical officer, on HMAS ANZAC enforcing United Nations Sanctions against Iraq in the Arabian Gulf.
I am very proud of my naval service and in recognition of that service I received the following awards:
Australian Active Service Medal Afghanistan Medal Australian Service Medal Following this, I commenced my training in Orthopaedic Surgery which culminated in my receiving my Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2009.
My advanced surgical training in knee replacement surgery and hip replacement surgery was completed in Belgium, Sydney, and Exeter UK.
Since completion of my formal training, I have attended and completed many courses and peer visits to ensure that my knowledge and skills remain at the leading edge of my profession
I follow a “Patients first” philosophy by providing all patients with informed options from which we can work together to provide the most appropriate treatment, at the time, for the individual patient’s needs.
