James graduated from UWA in 1999. He completed his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2010. He is a clinical teacher and supervisor for the West Australian General Practice Education and Training Program and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Notre Dame Fremantle. He enjoys all aspects of medicine, but has particular interests in diabetes, medical science, dermatology, minor surgery, diving medicine and medical education. He is trained to insert and remove the Implanon contraceptive device.
