Dr James Fon (MBBS, FRACP) is a consultant gastroenterologist at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

He holds a special interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and presently heads the Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Unit at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, alongside offering typical gastroenterology services.

Dr Fon gained his Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine degree from the University of Adelaide in 2002, where he went on to complete his basic physician training. This has since been followed up with specialist training in gastroenterology in 2008 at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and a Fellowship of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2010.

Today, he is undertaking a PhD with a focus on examining the cytokine profile of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. He still remains an active member of Adelaide Gastroenterology, where he provides a range of general gastroenterology services, inclusive of both colonoscopic and endoscopic procedures.
