Grace joined the Russo Optometry Team in 2018.
I graduated from Monash University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours), where I studied the role of the immune system in type 1 diabetes. Then I continued research, investigating infectious diseases for the next three years. Although I enjoyed the science and utilising the latest technologies, I wanted more interaction with people.
Being very short-sighted, I though I would become an optometrist to help people and improve their quality of life. So I studied for Doctor of Optometry at the University of Melbourne from 2012 to 2015. I have been working in central Gippsland for the past three years, where I have developed special interests in behavioural optometry and myopia control. I will miss my work family and lovely patients when I leave the Gippsland (and the lack of traffic in the country), however I am looking forward to working alongside Norm, Adrian and Sashini to learn from their expertise. I have a passion for providing patient-centred care and believe that communication is the key to any long-lasting relationship, so I will listen to your needs and discuss available options with you.
Away from work, I enjoy travelling, being a foodie and keeping fit. Proud Peacock in Mount Waverley is one of my favourite place for delicious and good-value Vietnamese meals (I have a list of other places/cuisine, just ask me!). I speak fluent Mandarin and Taiwanese.
