Dr. Helmut Schaider has been a Dermatologist since 2001, qualifying from the Medical University of Graz in Austria. At Clinic One, he conducts a private practice focussed on skin cancer checks and treatment.
Most of his time, Dr Schaider is an academic Dermatologist. He is internationally recognised as a translational researcher in skin cancer, focusing on melanoma biology and early detection of melanoma. He received training in melanoma biology at The Wistar Institute, Philadelphia.
After relocating to Australia he initiated his own independent research group at the Translational Research Institute, Brisbane. His research seeks to identify drug resistance to targeted therapies in melanoma and to improve survival of melanoma patients and early detection of melanoma.
