Hans completed his medical training and gastroenterology degree at the Universities of Padua (Italy) and Heidelberg (Germany). Before relocating to Australia he worked for 5 years as a consultant gastroenterologist in Switzerland. He moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2007 and has since worked at the Nambour General Hospital as a consultant gastroenterologist and director of gastroenterological services. One of his passions is ensuring the delivery of the highest quality services to patients and his biggest achievement was the planning and implementation of the state of the art endoscopy suites at Nambour General Hospital. He is dedicated to the delivery of high quality services to both public and private patients and as such has also developed a growing private practice on the coast. Hans is fully accredited by the Conjoint Committee of the Gastroenterology Society of Australia (GESA) as an interventional gastroenterologist. His special interest lies in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, ERCP, PEG feeding tube insertion, liver biopsy and stenting of the esophagus, duodenum, bile ducts and large bowel. He also has a key interest in inflammatory bowel disease and along with Stephanie Buckton has developed a first class public and private inflammatory bowel disease service on the Sunshine Coast.
