Dr Christoph Thelen graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is a Licenciate of the Medical Council of Canada and has the post graduate JCPTGP Certificate of the United Kingdom. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr. Thelen has both worked and studied in South Africa, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia and has extensive experience in Emergency Medicine, ICU, General Practice, Aboriginal Medicine, Rural Medicine, and Skin Cancer Medicine. He has held several senior medical positions since his arrival in Australia. These include Medical Superintendent in Queensland for a period of 4 years and Medical Officer in Charge at Canterbury Hospital in Sydney for a further period of 4 years.
Since arriving in Australia, Dr Thelen has developed a special interest in Skin Cancer and now practices exclusively in this field. He has specific training and broad experience in all aspects of diagnosis and treatment of all forms of Skin Cancer. He is currently studying for the Diploma of the Australasian College of Skin Cancer Medicine and always keeps abreast of any new developments in this exciting and ever-changing field.
