Dr Wernecke is an honours graduate from the University of Sydney, and a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association. Dr Wernecke completed his specialist orthopaedic training in 2017 and has recently returned from sub-specialist training at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto Canada, receiving a clinical fellowship in revision knee and hip replacement.
As the newest member of Sydney Knee Specialists, Dr Wernecke builds on our foundation of expert care for patients, providing high quality management in both sports knee and arthritic conditions. He also runs a complex joint clinic for dissatisfied joint replacement patients or patients with special medical/musculoskeletal needs. Dr Wernecke limits these clinics to reduced patient numbers and longer appointment times in order for patients with complex issues to receive the focused care they require.
Dr Wernecke consults at all SKS locations and provides surgical care for private and public patients at St George Private and Canterbury Public Hospital
