Srini is a non-interventional Cardiologist with experience in Echocardiography, Stress Echocardiography, Contrast Echocardiography, Trans-esophageal echo and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance imaging.
After graduating from University of Madras, India in 1992 he gained experience in Cardiology as a resident in Madras Medical Mission, one of the premier institutes and tertiary referral centre for cardiac disorders in Chennai. He then moved to Auckland, New Zealand to pursue post graduate training in general medicine and Cardiology. He completed cardiology training from Greenlane Cardiovascular Centre, Auckland in 2010 and received the fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
He practised cardiology as a consultant cardiologist at Middlemore Hospital, one of the three metropolitan public hospitals in Auckland. This hospital in South Auckland has high prevalence of rheumatic valvular heart disease and cardiomyopathy. During his time at Middlemore Hospital he was invited by the Ministry of Health, Cook Islands, to conduct a cardiac clinic in Rarotonga hospital in 2010.
To advance his expertise in cardiac imaging, he did a clinical fellowship in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance imaging at the Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide, Australia, from August 2011 to December 2012. He is level II certified by the Society of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance. He has been involved in clinical research projects in Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.
His main area of interest and focus in cardiology is non-invasive cardiac imaging and Cardiomyopathy due to various aetiologies.
